The International College of Zhejiang University (known as ZIRC) co-hosted an online exchange program with Lap-Chee College from the University of Hong Kong, and Choi Kai Yau College from the University of Macau during Nov 5-13. The program consists of 2 parts, the Cloud Visit and the Business Model Competition. 11 students from Choi Kai Yau College participated in the program.

On the morning of Nov 6th , the exchange program opening ceremony was held with remarks and keynote speeches by Prof. Lap-Chee Tsui from ZIRC College, Prof. Man Fung YUEN from Lap-Chee College and Prof. Janny M.Y. Leung from Choi Kai Yau College. In the sharing, students of the three universities were attentive to the history, development, and innovation of the three colleges. At last, the three masters encouraged the students to have a positive mindset, active participation, and fruitful outcomes, and wished success for the program.

From Nov 5th to Nov 12th, the participants visited companies, like Bilibili, Huawei, Bit Universe etc. In consideration of the different academic backgrounds of students from the three universities, the program purposely selected a few companies from different fields for cloud visit in the hope to prepare the students for future employment. In particular, the program aimed to highlight to students the advantages and cultures of large-scale leading companies and helped to build a bridge that connects the three Residential Colleges students to form a long-term collaboration with those companies. This program has been conducted online due to the ongoing pandemic and adopts a digital mode of “Cloud Visit”, “Cloud Research”, and “Cloud Tour”. Volunteers and organizers have set up live broadcasts and provide introductions throughout the program. Participants were given flexibility in attending tours according to their interest. Within the one-week limit, participants formed groups to prepare for the business model competition. Each group consisted of students from the three Universities to encourage more in-depth exchange. The students collaborated online to elucidate and assimilate their ideas on the topic Data Privacy Protection and referring to the case of the visited companies.

On the morning of Nov 13th, the program came to an end with the Business Model Competition presentation and the online award ceremony. Four participating groups presented their proposals which showed different perspectives on the topic. At last, the judges, Prof. Raymond Chi Ho LOI from Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau and Prof. Wan Feng from International Business School, Zhejiang University, gave out their precious comments and marks on each group’s proposal and presentation. As a result, Group D was honored with the 1st prize and 4 participants were honored as the outstanding individuals, which are Ieong Man Fai, Ni Ru Yan, Shu Hua Guan, and Wong Io Kit all from CKYC. The awards session won loud applause and the students are looking forward to the next Zhejiang, Hong Kong, and Macau exchange program. All in all, the program came to a successful conclusion.
