Choi Kai Yau College has collected second-hand clothing and other items left by the graduates in June every year. These second-hand supplies were available to be reused by returning students through CKYC Free Market in August. Remaining unclaimed items were donated to Happy Market Social Enterprise in September, delivered by Resident Fellow Mr. Lantz Wu and student representatives. It is important for students to understand the concept of resource regeneration, sharing, and  re-use. The Happy Market Social Enterprise will re-sell second-hand items for helping disabled and disadvantaged groups in the community.

Student Rao Jinqi feels that the recycling system could extend the lifespan of second-hand products, the staff from Happy Market shows their enthusiasm and energy from their work. Student Wong Ka Hei met a grandma and grandson shopping inside the Happy Market, he thought that is very meaningful to help people in need. Choi Kai Yau College upholds the spirit of a caring community and hopes that students could contribute to society in  different ways.
