The first floor’s RTRAs of Choi Kai Yau College of the University of Macau and the Macau Rugby Club’s members jointly organized a touch rugby experience activity at the Basketball Courts 3 on the night of October 17th. Based on running with the ball in hand, rugby, a new sport in Macau, is a ball game that emphasizes teamwork and can be played by male and female players of all ages. In this activity, the members of the Macau Rugby Club introduced the basic knowledge and rules of touch rugby to the college students as well as led them to practice passing and catching the ball in groups. By learning basic movements and conducting simulated competitions, the students quickly picked up interest in this sport that they had little knowledge of in the past. A student said that learning rugby inspired his enthusiasm for more physical exercise and to shape a healthy lifestyle. In addition to this experiential activity, students can also participate in the training of the Macau Rugby Club on the following Mondays to further learn about this sport. The participants also have more opportunities to communicate and chat with others, and enhanced the friendship between the students. The spirit of mutual help and love also reflects the spirit of teamwork.
