It is a great honor for me to participate in the exchange visit of 22nd to 24th May to Greater Bay Area as a member of PR Student Ambassadors and UM Reporters in the University of Macau. We visited Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley, Southern Metropolis Daily, Sun Yat-Sen University, and Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences during this memorable trip.
I learned a lot from this trip, and many skills can be applied to the work of PR Student Ambassadors and UM Reporters. On the afternoon of the first day, accompanied by light rain, we visited the Southern Metropolis Daily, experienced the daily work of the front-line media, and learned their experience in video production, publicity and promotion, such as applying different promotion methods on different media platforms to cater to the characteristics of the platform and needs, make targeted changes and deployments.
Among the exchange visit to Greater Bay Area, the one who impressed me the most was Zhao Wei, the previous president of the University of Macau, who is currently working at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His wit and humor narrowed the distance with the students, but more importantly, his attention and care for each student made me feel the greatness of educators. He asked each student to introduce himself during the conference, and let the students stand in the center of the group photo, and himself stood at the far side. In every small matter, President Zhao showed his student-centered philosophy.
Through the communication with Sun Yat-sen University, we have a more comprehensive understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of our own communication work. In terms of the number of subscriptions and viewers, the attention obtained by Sun Yat-sen University is far superior to that of UM for the time being. However, in terms of subject matter, Sun Yat-sen University and even mainland universities are characterized by relatively single content and little room for inspiration. In contrast, the diversified content of UM is more interesting and dynamic.
In the Macao-Hengqin Youth Entrepreneurship Valley, which has close cooperation with the University of Macau, we have seen the transformation and implementation of the scientific research achievements of the University of Macau. Many advanced technologies have been practically applied to the production line, improving the quality and efficiency of the project. In addition, I also appreciate the determination of the Macau government and the mainland to vigorously promote the independent innovation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and vigorously support the internship and employment of young talents in Macau.
One can see the future by an extraordinary glimpse. In just two or three days, we got a glimpse of the future employment and development trend of the Greater Bay Area, which is vigorously promoted by the country, and opened up our broad idea of spreading the influence of University of Macau to the world. While looking forward to what the times can bring us, we are also thinking about how we can use our strength to create our own era.
