CKYC held a Dining Etiquette Workshop on September 23rd, and invited Ms. Jeannette Chan from the Macau International Etiquette Association as the instructor. The workshop is about greeting manners, dining etiquette and formal dress code. During the activity, students had the chance to experience the proper handshake method, and dining manners, such as the use of napkins at the table. Furthermore, there was also a Q&A session at the end. This really made the table manners come to life and more accessible to everyone, as the dining protocol no longer makes people feel distant. The activity was highly praised by the staff and students. It also achieved the goal of helping students to learn business etiquette, develop good interpersonal skills, and prepare for the formal dinners in the future.

Macao is an international city that brings together diverse cultures. It can provide students a good global perspective. Therefore, this college activity enables students to master the relevant etiquette knowledge, which can help them build a better personal image and develop social graces and proper behavior on certain important occasions. Also, it can help them to have a real understanding of the concept of etiquette and to be an elegant and decent person, living up to UM’s motto of “Humanity, Integrity, Propriety, Wisdom, and Sincerity”.
