Choi Kai Yau College of the University of Macau, together with the Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Muse College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), jointly organized the first “Greater Bay Area (GBA) Foo Cheung Study Tour Program” in July.

The opening ceremony was held on July 3rd. Professor CHEN Yongqin, College Master of Muse College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Professor FONG Wing-ping, Head of Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Professor Janny LEUNG, College Master of Choi Kai Yau College of the University of Macau, delivered welcoming speeches. Professor Janny Leung praised the meticulous planning and arrangements of the visiting program and thanked all the staff behind-the-scenes. Looking back on her own work experience in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macau, she encouraged the students to seize the opportunity of this visiting program and explore more future development opportunities.

Students who participated in this visiting program expressed that they have benefited a lot from the trip. Through field visits in different cities such as Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and Zhuhai in the Greater Bay Area, they understood deeper about the area’s development and experienced the characteristics of each city. The co-ordination and alignment of corresponding development strategies and plans will help promote the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area’s economy, society, and culture, and achieve a better future.

This visiting program was arranged for students and teachers from three higher education institutions in the Greater Bay Area. The participants visited eight cities in the area for a nine-day study trip. Through thematic lectures and discussions, field visits, and visits to historical and cultural sites, students knew more about the economic development, business environment, as well as the overall social and livelihood development of the Greater Bay Area, in order to equip themselves and seize future development opportunities.
