Six residential colleges of the University of Macao, including Cheong Kun Lun College, Choi Kai Yau College, Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College, Moon Chun Memorial College, Stanley Ho East Asia College, and Shiu Pong College jointly organized a visit to the National Security Education Exhibition on 21th April 2021. More than 120 students and staff participated in this event. The purpose of the visit is to give the students a deeper understanding of national security. The exhibition is divided into four sections, including “National Security in the face of unprecedented changes in a century,” “Adhering to the overall vision of national security and building a grand security framework,” “Safeguarding national security and ensuring the stability and sustainability of the ‘one country, two systems’ policy”, and “National security is the responsibility of every citizen.” All participants visited the exhibition hall under the guidance of the docent, which enabled the students to understand the significance of national security. Later, the participants watched a video on national security education, which gave them an in-depth understanding of the current development and changes in China and the global situation. After this event, students learned more about the relationship between national security and Macao, as well as China’s “one country, two systems” and national security responsibility. All students enjoyed the visit as it was a great learning opportunity and hoped that RCs could organize more similar activities in future to deepen their understanding of their motherland.
