The 8th Educational Forum on Modern Residential College System was successfully held at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology from July 6th to July 9th, 2023. The forum brought together 410 experts from 62 universities, research institutions, and companies, including representative from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Macau, Tsinghua University in Taiwan, and Peking University.
The research paper titled “A Study on the Development of Service Leadership and Creativity of College Student Leaders: A Case Study of Choi Kai Yau College, University of Macau” by Liu Mengwei and Qi Yaning, as well as the research paper titled “The Effectiveness of Residential Colleges in University of Macau: Analysis of Teacher-Student Relationships, Well-being, and Self-esteem” by Cheung Pui Man and Wu Chi Chong, were selected for inclusion in the forum proceedings and received Outstanding Paper Awards. Liu Mengwei and Cheung Pui Man delivered excellent presentations during the sub-forum, conducting in-depth discussions and exchanges on the evaluation of college education’s effectiveness and the care provided by colleges to students.
During the series of events, the four representatives participated in the College education training program, a high-table dinner, and a visit to universities in Shenzhen. At the high-table dinner, Liu Mengwei collaborated with representative from different universities to give a singing performance. The forum provided a platform for participants to share ideas, engage in intellectual exchange, and stimulated in-depth reflections on the future development of college education.
