Choi Kai Yau College and Moon Chun Memorial College jointly organized a film viewing event on “Macao, Back to Common Roots Narrative Film” on Feb 27th, 2022.

The film, which is not presented in a fancy way, is able to outline the development of Macau in the past five centuries with simple colors and simple brush strokes. From being a small coastal town mainly engaged in farming and fishing, to being colonized by the West, to being reunited with the Motherland and rejuvenated, Macau’s history is condensed in a documentary film on the big screen. How did Macau become a prosperous and developed special administrative region, and how did it achieve rapid development of political civilization? While deepening residents’ understanding of history, the film also enriched their knowledge and understanding of Macau. Students can better appreciate the cultural heritage of the city while studying in Macau.

After the film, Master Leung of CKYC said, “Although the film is 28 minutes long only, I hope the students will enjoy the process of watching the film and think about the development of Macau in the past five centuries.” Overall, this film viewing activity is very educational and inspiring.
