In recent years, Macau’s tertiary institutions have seen a rise in telephone scams. In order to raise awareness and prevent such scams, on October 31st, the Residential Tutors and Resident Assistants of Choi Kai Yau College led a group of resident students to the Emperor Cinemas at Lisboeta Macau to watch the movie “No More Bets”. The film was based on real-life incidents and focused on telecommunications network scams through online gambling. It depicted the entire process of scams carried out by overseas cybercriminal organizations, highlighting the devastating experiences of victims and their families. The movie aimed to wake up viewers to be vigilant about scams. After the screening, some students expressed their determination to approach life with a grounded mindset and avoid greed. They will also actively learn about anti-scam knowledge and enhance their awareness to prevent falling into deceptive traps. With that, the activity concluded successfully.
