CKYC, MCMC and SHEAC participated in the Patriotism Extended Education activity initiated by DSEDJ, and led students to visit the “Base da Educação do Amor pela Pátria e por Macau para Jovens” and the “Commemorative Gallery of the Macau Basic Law” on October 30th, 2021. The latter is an important exposition of Macao’s legal institution, which promotes students’ understanding of Macao’s legal institutions and development. With the theme of “Deep-rooted lineage with China”, the former provides a vital platform for students to know the development process of China and Macao from various perspectives and enhance their national awareness and patriotism.
During the visit, the students had a better understanding of the development and changes of Macao before and after its return to China. The transfer of sovereignty over Macao and the current achievements are a vivid and successful example of the “one country, two systems” policy. From this, the students had a deeper understanding of China’s strong institutional advantages and enhanced the sense of national identity and pride. As a region with special geographical location and political significance, Macao is the portal and one of the “calling cards” of China. The social stability and economic prosperity of Macao not only show the powerful driving force of China’s development, but also strengthen the confidence and provide a bright prospect for the future development of Mainland China and Macao.
