The 1st High Table Dinner of Choi Kai Yau College in the academic year of 2018/2019 was successfully held on 27th September 2018. The honorable guests attended the Dinner include: the Rector of the University of Macau, Professor Yonghua Song; the Director and Deputy CEO of the Hong Kong Sunwah Group, Mr. Johnson Choi; the Registrar of the City University of Macau, Dr. Sean Li; the Registrar, and the Interim Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Technology of the University of Macau, Professor Kelvin Yuen; the Director of Research Centre for Humanities in South China and the Associate Director of Centre for Chinese History and Culture of University of Macau, Dr. Shoutong Zhu; Director of Research Services and Knowledge Transfer Office of the University of Macau, Professor Jason Yang; the Director of Communications Office of the University of Macau, Ms. Katrina Cheong, and the Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau, Dr. Javier Calero Cuervo. Meanwhile, Mr. Johnson Choi was invited to the Dinner as the keynote speaker and delivered an inspiring speech by encouraging the young generation.

To prepare for the Dinner, all the students had to join the High Table Dinner etiquette-training workshop, so the participants could be equipped with the necessary social skills to facilitate the event. The Dinner started with the recitation of the Umac motto, which was led by the College Master, Prof. Kevin Zhen. After that, Mr. Johnson Choi shared his knowledge regarding the development of the Greater Bay Area and addressing the importance of personal advancement in his speech. Mr. Choi urged the young generation not only had to achieve mastery in their professions, but it was also significant to improve the personal quotients in order to make valuable contributions to the country. Then, the students of CKYC brought a unique martial art Tai Chi performance to the Dinner, followed by an outstanding Guzheng performance. Finally, the Dinner was concluded after the toast session with the High Table Guests.

The High Table Dinner is always the most significant event of the College. The Dinner is aimed to enhance the comprehension of College members regarding social etiquette. Meanwhile, the Dinner also created an occasion for the interaction among fellows, affiliates, and students. It is hoped that the sense of belongings of College members could be fostered, which was expected to contribute to the future development of the College.

蔡繼有書院2018/2019學年第一次高桌晚宴於2018年9月27日舉行。是次高桌晚宴的榮譽嘉賓包括: 澳門大學校長宋永華教授、新華集團執行董事兼副總裁蔡雋思先生、澳門城市大學教務長李樹英博士、澳門大學教務長及科技學院代院長阮家榮教授、澳門大學南國人文研究中心主任及中國歷史文化中心副主任朱壽桐教授、澳門大學研究服務及知識轉移辦公室主任楊志新教授、澳門大學傳訊部總監張惠琴女士及澳門大學工商管理學院助理教授Javier Calero Cuervo 博士等。其中,蔡雋思先生更為是次晚宴主題講者,為同學們帶來一場發人深思的演講。

為了參加是次晚宴,所有參加者必須參加較早前舉行的晚宴禮儀培訓工作坊以學習餐桌禮儀及熟悉晚宴形式。晚宴在院長甄勇教授領讀澳大校訓下揭開序幕,然後蔡雋思先生以“仰望星空、毋忘責任”為題與同學們分享大灣區的發展前景,同時呼籲年輕一代除了學好自己的專業外,亦要提升個人的思維方式以為未來國家的發展作出貢獻。書院院生隨後為晚宴帶來太極及古箏表演,晚宴亦在榮譽嘉賓們的祝酒環節後圓滿結束。

高桌晚宴尚來為書院最有代表性的活動之一,晚宴旨在加深院生對社交禮儀之認識,以及加深學生與嘉賓及書院導師之間的交流與認識。書院冀透過高桌晚宴能深化院生們對書院的歸屬感,亦為書院的未來發展奠定更好的基礎。
