From November 7th to 8th, 2024, a 16-member delegation from Choi Kai Yau College visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong for a two-day exchange and visit. Upon arrival at the campus, they were warmly welcomed by the Master, Associate Master and students of Morningside College at a reception, followed by joining the college communal dinner that fostered in-depth cross-cultural communication, with students sharing their learning and living experiences.
On the following day, the delegation participated in a campus eco-tour and visited the Museum of Climate Change, appreciating the ecological diversity within the campus and understanding the impacts of climate change. Additionally, they engaged in a thought-provoking general education course titled “Dilemmas in Artificial Intelligence,” which sparked reflection on the application and societal impact of AI technology, and how to strike a balance between adoption of new technology and replacement of past practices.
“This exchange not only broadened my academic horizons but also enhanced my interpersonal skills” said student Lou Shuhao. “At CUHK, students prefer speaking English over Chinese in daily life, likely due to the high percentage of foreign students, and English being the official language. I was impressed by their English proficiency and the prevalence of English conversations on the campus”, said student Wang Yuhuan.
This visit not only broadened the delegates’ perspectives on global issues but also provided insights into the operations of CUHK and its residential colleges.
