Prof. Janny Leung was selected to participate in the Erasmus+ Merging Voices 2024 Staff Mobility Programme. Her visit to the Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 15th to 19th September 2025 was hosted by Prof. Isabel Cristina Silva Correia of the Departamento de Matemática, Faculdade Ciências e Tecnologia. During the 5-day visit, Prof. Leung gave a Short Course in Operations Research on the topic of “Public Transport for Smart Cities”. The course discussed problems and emerging trends in public transport planning and disruption management, and was well-attended by faculty and students. The visit also allowed ample time for research discussions, and a research project on facility location under disruption uncertainty was initiated with Prof. Correia and also Prof. Dr. Teresa Melo of the Business School, Saarland University of Applied Sciences (Saarbruecken, Germany). In addition to building new international research partnerships, the visit also provided an opportunity to promote the research of the University of Macau and our unique residential college education system.
