Following the successful dinner gathering for the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), and the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) at Choi Kai Yau College last semester , the Faculty of Law (FLL) & Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) gathering was held on the evening of February 13th. Prof. Rostam J. NEUWIRTH from Faculty of Law and five professors from the Faculty of Health Sciences – Prof. Henry Kwok, Prof. Chris Wong, Prof. Zheng Ying, Prof. Wang Peng and Prof. Garry Wong – had dinner with more than 30 students from different majors of FLL and FHS. Prof. Janny Leung, Master of CKYC, delivered the opening speech, welcoming and thanking the guests.
During the FLL – FHS night, students majoring in the same disciplines sat at round tables with their professors. This arrangement not only enhanced academic discussions but also fostered connections between different majors. Professors and students engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum arrangements, learning methods, research internship, and future development. Professors responded enthusiastically to students’ questions and provided personalized development plans based on individual strengths.
Additionally, senior students shared detailed insights into each professional course, explained learning skills and experiences, and emphasized the importance of research, internships, and other “soft skills” enhancements to the freshmen.
After the event, participants expressed that the dinner was highly beneficial. Many freshmen mentioned that they now have a clearer understanding of their future learning and development plans. The experiences shared by professors and senior students helped alleviate the confusion and anxiety they felt upon entering the University.
