To enhance students’ awareness and care for disadvantaged groups, Choi Kai Yau College organized a visit to the Pou Lei Centre on 23 October. This event provided students with an opportunity to interact with individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting social inclusion and appreciation of diverse values.
During the visit, students were guided by the staff of the Pou Lei Centre to explore its main facilities, including the vocational training area, arts and crafts workshop, and rehabilitation training rooms. They gained insights into the various support services offered to individuals with intellectual disabilities at the center.
Following the tour, students engaged in interactive activities with the center’s participants, such as crafting and group games, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and joy.
The representative of the Pou Lei Centre expressed gratitude for the students’ active participation, emphasizing that such activities not only help individuals with intellectual disabilities feel supported by society but also foster greater understanding and acceptance of diverse groups within the community.
