On November 19, 2025, the College successfully hosted the seminar titled “Introduction to Mathematical Modeling and MCM Seminar.” The event attracted numerous students interested in mathematical modeling, creating an engaging and interactive atmosphere. Designed to support those considering participation in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM/ICM), the session covered essential topics including competition rules, judging criteria, team collaboration strategies, and analyses of past award-winning solutions.
Drawing on personal experience as both a participant and mentor, the speaker clearly explained the end-to-end modeling process—from problem selection to final paper writing—and shared practical tips on time management and model selection. Attendees actively asked questions and exchanged ideas, with many expressing afterward that they now have a clearer understanding of mathematical modeling and greater confidence to compete. The seminar not only enhanced students applied academic skills but also laid a strong foundation for future team formation and competition preparation.
