On May 31, 2025, the closing ceremony held at the University of Macau marked the successful conclusion of the “2025 FC Lo Greater Bay Area Study Tour,” jointly organized by Choi Kai Yau College of the University of Macau, Muse College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and Chung Chi College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. This marks the third year that the program has received generous sponsorship from Mr. Lo Foo Cheung, Founder and Chairman of the board of FC Packaging Group. This year, nearly 70 faculty and students were selected to participate in an 11-day in-depth study tour, covering key cities in the Greater Bay Area, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao.

At the opening ceremony on May 27, Mr. Lo attended in person and encouraged students to “seize the opportunities of the times and contribute to the nation‘s rejuvenation.” All college masters from the three universities emphasized the mission of whole person education. They stated that social engagement and field studies serve as vital aspects of academic learning at the university. They highlighted that education institutions in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, have the responsibility of nurturing future architects of development for the Greater Bay Area. They expressed hope that students would broaden their horizons and deepen their sense of national identity through this study tour.

During the program, participants visited various institutions, including China Southern Power Grid and Bai’etan  Greater Bay Area Art Center in Guangzhou; FC Packaging (Jiangmen), Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Museum, Liang Qichao’s Former Residence, and Kaiping Diaolou in Jiangmen and Foshan; Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, Huawei Bantian Base Exhibition Hall, and BGI Genomics in Shenzhen; West Kowloon Cultural District, ICAC Headquarters, CUHK History Gallery and Art Museum, and Hong Kong Science and Technology Park Experience Centre in Hong Kong; and UM Currency Museum, Macao Grand Prix Museum, and Macao Museum in Macau.

Participating students from Choi Kai Yau College said that they cherished this cross-regional learning opportunity very much: “to be rooted firmly in the Greater Bay Area, with strong affection for Greater China;” “to contribute our youth and wisdom to the development of the College and the Greater Bay Area;” “to engage friendly exchange with students from other regions in this study tour, thus developing close friendships.” To conclude, since its launch in 2023, this “FC Lo Greater Bay Area Study Tour” has become an important connection for youth exchanges between universities in the three places, and has become the main practice platform for experiential education in the colleges.
