Choi Kai Yau College Students launched volunteer teaching in Congjiang Basha Primary School

To support the Macau SAR’s poverty relief program in Congjiang county, and to deepen the college students’ knowledge about mainland China, nurture their service spirit and social responsibility, Choi Kai Yau College organized a group of 10 college students, which was lead by the College Associate Master Dr. Kelly Li, to launch a one-week volunteer teaching activity in Ba Sha Primary school.

The group members designed 5 classes, including sports, English, mathematics, natural and health. Through games, team works and various teaching forms, the college students tried to inspire the local children’s interests in learning and exploring the world outside their hometown. They also introduced Macau to local students and encouraged them to apply the University of Macau when they grow up.

In this volunteer teaching trip, Choi Kai Yau College brought books, study materials donated by college students and five laptops donated by the ICTO of UM to Ba Sha Primary school, and established a long-term cooperation relationship with the school.
